Aces top Fever to complete season sweep

Six players scored in double figures Saturday as the Las Vegas Aces polished off a season sweep of the Indiana Fever with an 87-71 win in Indianapolis.

The Aces hit 48.4 percent of their field goal attempts, drawing 23 assists on 31 made buckets. They also earned a 38-31 rebounding advantage, which was more than enough to make up for 16 turnovers.

Indiana (5-19) got 15 points each from Kelsey Mitchell and Tiffany Mitchell, plus 12 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists from Teaira McCowan. Reserves Lindsay Allen and Jantel Lavender scored 11 and 10 points, respectively.

But the Fever again were hit by the injury bug. Point guard Danielle Robinso, left late in the first quarter with an ankle injury and wasn't able to return. She played just eight minutes, failing to score.

Indiana converted only 40.3 percent of its field goal attempts, going 4 of 15 on 3-pointers, and coughed up 15 turnovers. Its three season losses to Las Vegas came by a combined 75 points.

Las Vegas took charge in the final 3:51 of the first quarter, going on a 15-3 run. It got points from all six of its main scorers, with Young nailing a pullup in the lane with 0.2 seconds left for a 27-17 advantage.

The Aces pushed the lead to 24 when Plum dropped two foul shots with 5:31 left in the half, ending what amounted to a 33-7 spurt that bridged the first two quarters. They went to halftime with a 50-31 advantage.

The third quarter was an exhibition of basket-trading that saw Las Vegas up its margin to 63-37 when Gray sank a 20-footer with 5:44 on the clock. Its lead was a comfortable 74-54 heading into the fourth period.

Cloud leads Mystics' 2nd-half rally to beat Wings

Natasha Cloud scored 21 points and Shavonte Zellous hit a pair of free throws with 4.7 seconds left to cap a second-half comeback in the Washington Mystics' 76-75 victory over the Dallas Wings on Saturday night.

Washington was without Elena Delle Donne, who returned a week ago after missing 22 months following a pair or back surgeries. Delle Donne came out of Thursday's game after 12 minutes as a precaution and is considered day-to-day. The Mystics also were without Tina Charles because of a left glute strain.

Dallas built a 17-9 lead after one quarter and a 35-19 advantage at intermission, but the Mystics scored 57 second-half points. Cloud, who scored all 21 points in the second half, hit three 3s and scored 15 points in the third quarter to help spark the rally.

Zellous hit a 3 early in the fourth to give the Mystics their first lead, 54-53 and Cloud and buried a long 3 30-seconds later to extend the Washington lead to four, 57-53.

Myisha Hines-Allen added 15 points and Theresa Plaisance had 11 for Washington (10-15). The Mystics had lost nine of their previous 11 games.

Isabelle Harrison added 18 points for Dallas and Marina Mabrey had 17.
